SEE & DO
Karakuwa Banya Oyster Hut
You can enjoy oysters and scallops grown by aquafarmers who worked hard to overcome the devastating losses of the 2011 tsunami. Eat them steamed, fisherman-style. Take in the beautiful views of aquaculture rafts floating on pristine water which shimmers with the light of the sun. You can also see the Oshima Bridge, a symbol of reconstruction, which was completed in April 2019 and connects the mainland to Oshima, one of the largest inhabited remote islands in Tohoku.
